DNR Pushes Hunter Safety As Shotgun Deer Season Opens

(Springfield, IL)  —  Most of Illinois’ deer hunters are already in the woods or the field, and the state is hoping they’re being safe. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is pushing hunter safety on this first weekend of shotgun deer season. DNR says most hunters who get hurt or die do so falling out of their tree stands. DNR officers say simply wearing a harness can make your hunt much safer.
