(Cleveland, OH)  —  The World Series is all even at a game apiece.  Kyle Schwarber drove in two runs and Jake Arrieta took a no-hitter into the sixth inning as the Cubs beat the Indians 5-1 in Game Two in Cleveland.

 

>>Cubs, Indians Have A Travel Day Today

 

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Cubs and Indians have a travel day today before resuming the World Series tomorrow night in Chicago.  The Cubs will host Game Three at Wrigley Field, with Kyle Hendricks opposing Cleveland’s Josh Tomlin.  First pitch is just after 7 o’clock.  The Cubs will also host Game Four and Five.

 

>>Marlins’ Fernandez, Two Friends Had Strong Odor Of Alcohol

 

(Miami, FL)  —  Details surrounding the tragic death of Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez are beginning to come to light.  According to a search warrant affidavit obtained by the “Miami Herald,” Fernandez and his two friends had a strong odor of alcohol on them when divers found their bodies following the violent boat accident in Miami last month.

 

>>Nuggets Knock Off Pelicans

 

(New Orleans, LA)  —  The Nuggets withstood a monster performance from Anthony Davis in a 107-102 win over the Pelicans in the opener for both teams in New Orleans.  Davis had 50 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals, five assists and four blocks in defeat.

(Nashville, TN)  —  Week Eight of the NFL season kicks off tonight with the Titans hosting the Jaguars in Tennessee.  The Titans enter the primetime affair 3-and-4 on the season.  Jacksonville is 2-and-4.

 

>>Michigan’s Harbaugh Tops Coaching Salaries

 

(Undated)  —  Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh is the highest-paid head coach in college football.  “USA Today” released its annual survey of coaches salaries yesterday, with Harbaugh topping the list at nine-million dollars.  Alabama’s Nick Saban is second at 6.9-million.

 

>>Illinois To Play In Maui Invitational

 

(Ames, IA)  —  Illinois has been selected to participate in the Maui Classic in 2018.  The tournament takes place November 19-21 in Hawaii.  The Illini will be joined by Arizona, Auburn, Duke, Gonzaga, Iowa State, San Diego State and Xavier.
