>>Cubs Down Dodgers In Game Five

 

(Los Angeles, CA)  —  The Cubs are a win away from their first trip to the World Series since 1945.  Chicago doubled up the Dodgers 8-4 in Game Five of the NLCS last night in LA.  The Cubs hold a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven set and host Game Six tomorrow night.

 

>>Giants Say Brown Won’t Travel To London

 

(East Rutherford, NJ)  —  Giants kicker Josh Brown will not travel with the team to London for Sunday’s game against the Rams.  The team announced the news after new information came out regarding Brown’s domestic violence case.  Brown admitted to abusing his ex-wife in emails and journal entries that were released Wednesday.

 

>>Packers Blow Out Bears

 

(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Packers are celebrating a big win over their bitter rival.  Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in the second half and the Pack pulled away for a 26-10 win over the Bears on “Thursday Night Football”.  Davante Adams caught a pair of TD throws to help Green Bay improve to 4-and-2.  Chicago dropped to 1-and-6.

 

>>Boise State Survives Scare From BYU

 

(Boise, ID)  —  Number-14 Boise State survived a scare and held on for a 28-27 win over BYU.  Boise State blocked a potential go-ahead 44-yard field goal and defended a Hail Mary in the closing seconds to improve to 7-and-0.

 

>>Sparks Beat Lynx To Win WNBA Title

 

(Minneapolis, MN)  —  The Los Angeles Sparks are WNBA champions.  Nneka Ogwumike’s [[ NECK-ah  oh-WOOM-ih-kay’s ]] putback with less than four seconds left pushed the Sparks past the Lynx 77-76 in the deciding Game Five of the WNBA Finals.  Candace Parker led LA with 28 points and 12 rebounds and was named Finals MVP.

 

>>Chase Playoffs Head To Talladega

 

(Lincoln, AL)  —  The Sprint for the Chase Cup playoffs heads to Talladega for the Hellmann’s 500.  The race is the last of three in the Round of 12.  The Round of Eight begins next Sunday.  This Sunday’s race is at 1:00 p.m.

 

>>Colts Visit Titans

 

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Colts look to continue their dominance over division foe Tennessee on Sunday.  Indianapolis has won 14 of its past 15 games against the Titans, including the past nine matchups.  The 2-and-4 Colts seek their first road win after falling to 0-and-3 away from home in last Sunday’s loss to Houston.

 

>>Illinois At Fourth-Ranked Michigan Tomorrow

 

(Champaign, IL)  —  Illinois is on the road tomorrow taking on fourth-ranked Michigan.  Kickoff at The Big House is at 3:30 p.m.  The Fighting Illini knocked off Rutgers last Saturday for their first conference win of the year.  Illinois is 2-and-4 overall and 1-and-2 in the Big Ten.  The Wolverines are 6-and-0.
