>>Indians Advance To World Series


(Toronto, Ontario)  —  The Indians are moving on to the World Series for the first time since 1997.  Cleveland closed out the ALCS with a 3-0 win over the Blue Jays in Game Five in Toronto.  The Indians are in search of their first World Series title since 1948.


>>Cubs Crush Dodgers To Even Up NLCS


(Los Angeles, CA)  —  The NLCS is tied at two games apiece.  The Cubs crushed the Dodgers 10-2 last night in Los Angeles to even up the best-of-seven set.  The pivotal Game Five is tonight in LA.


>>Jury Clears Rose In Rape Lawsuit


(Los Angeles, CA)  —  NBA star Derrick Rose is in the clear regarding a civil lawsuit accusing him of rape in Los Angeles.  A jury found Rose and two of his friends not liable in the 21-million-dollar lawsuit.  Rose’s ex-girlfriend had claimed the Knicks guard and his friends broke into her apartment and raped her while she was incapacitated in 2013.


>>Jets Benching Fitzpatrick In Favor Of Smith


(Florham Park, NJ)  —  The Jets are making a change at quarterback.  Head coach Todd Bowles is benching Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor of Geno Smith.  Fitzpatrick has thrown an NFL-worst 11 interceptions for the 1-and-5 Jets this season.


>>Packers Host Bears


(Green Bay, WI)  —  Week Seven of the NFL season kicks off tonight with the Packers hosting the Bears in Green Bay.  Tonight’s matchup is the 193rd meeting in the league’s oldest rivalry.  The Packers have won eight of the last 10 meetings.


>>Colts Visit Titans


(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Colts look to get back on track against division foe Tennessee on Sunday.  The 2-and-4 Colts are on the road against the 3-and-3 Titans.  Indianapolis has won 14 of its past 15 games against the Titans, including the past nine matchups.


>>Illinois At Fourth-Ranked Michigan Saturday


(Champaign, IL)  —  The Illinois football team will be in Ann Arbor Saturday to battle fourth-ranked Michigan.  The Fighting Illini picked up their first Big Ten win of the season with a 24-7 triumph at Rutgers last Saturday.  Illinois is 2-and-4 overall and 1-and-2 in the conference.  U-of-M is 6-and-0.
