The Mt. Zion volleyball team had been near perfect on paper through the 2016 season compiling a 10-1 record after defeating Taylorville in straight sets on Tuesday night, 25-20, 25-18. Despite not having starting setter Alli Vaughn in lineup for the second straight match, the Braves offense has continued to play at a high level using their structured offense and dominant outside hitters to take control of matches. Freshman Karlee McAtee and senior Erin Ripple each tallied six kills a piece and freshman Stephanie Hurm had 19 assists on the night to earn the fifth straight win for the Braves. This win also marks a 2-0 start to conference play, which will continue tomorrow night at Effingham.
