>>Report: Pats’ Garoppolo To Miss Thursday Game

(Foxboro, MA)  —  The Patriots are down another quarterback.  Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an AC joint injury in New England’s 31-24 win over the Dolphins.  He is expected to miss Thursday’s game against the Texans.  The Pats are already without Tom Brady, who is serving a four-game suspension.

>>Broncos Cut Down Colts

(Denver, CO)  —  The Broncos are 2-and-0 after downing the Colts, 34-20, in Denver.  Shane Ray returned a Von Miller strip-sack for a touchdown during an 18-point fourth quarter.  Indianapolis is 0-and-2 for the third straight season. 


>>Cardinals Shut Out Giants Behind Reyes

(San Francisco, CA)  —  Alex Reyes combined with two relievers on a five-hitter as the Cardinals shut out the Giants 3-0 in San Francisco.  Reyes threw seven innings of four-hit ball for the win.  Aledmys Diaz hit a two-run homer and Jhonny Peralta singled in a run as St. Louis split the four-game set.

>>Cubs Lose To Brewers

(Chicago, IL)  —  Kyle Hendricks was outdueled by Wily Peralta as the Brewers beat the Cubs 3-1 at Wrigley.  Hendricks struck out nine, but gave up two runs in six frames to fall to 15-and-8.  Tommy La Stella’s pinch-hit double plated Chicago’s lone run.  The Cubs dropped three-of-four and host the Reds starting tonight.


>>Royals Rip White Sox

(Kansas City, MO)  —  The White Sox suffered a 10-3 loss to the Royals in Kansas City.  Todd Frazier hit a two-run homer for Chicago, which has lost the last two in the four-game set.  Jose Quintana allowed six runs and 10 hits in only four innings to drop to 12-and-11.


>>College Football Roundup

(Undated)  —  In college football on Saturday, Western Michigan downed Illinois, 34-10.  Northwestern slipped past Duke, 24-13, while Michigan State outlasted Notre Dame, 36-28.  Notre Dame dropped out of the Top-25 after the loss.

>>Louisville, Ohio State Move Up In Poll

(Undated)  —  Ohio State and Louisville are moving up in this week’s college football Coaches’ Poll.  Ohio State is up two spots to number-two after hammering Oklahoma.  Louisville surged six spots to fourth after smashing Florida State.  Alabama continues to sit alone atop the rankings.

>>Truex Wins First Chase Race

(Joliet, IL)  —  Martin Truex Jr. took the checkered flag at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.  Yesterday’s race was the first in the Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs.  Truex Jr. advances to the next round with the win.  Joey Logano and Chase Elliott rounded out the top three.
