The Meridian volleyball team started conference play off on the right foot as they picked up a road conference win on Thursday night in straight sets against Warrensburg-Latham, 25-23, 25-18. Meridian has done a nice job bouncing back from a loss earlier in the week earning their second straight win and doing a much better job limiting the errors and working the offense. It was a tight first set that the Lady Hawks were to come away with and then took care of business in set two, to start Central Illinois Conference play in the win column. Senior Chelsea Getz paced the offense with nine kills, Chloe Herbert had a team high 20 assists and Drew Newberry added 15 digs. Meridian is now 5-4 on the year and 1-0 in CIC and will return to action on Monday night at home against Cerro-Gordo. Warrensburg-Latham is now 9-8 and will take on Hartsburg-Emden on Monday night at home.
