The Meridian volleyball team had a tough night on Monday falling at home to Riverton but the Lady Hawks responded in a big way on the road Tuesday night picking up a straight sets win over Springfield Calvary, 25-13 and 25-22. Meridian set the tone in set one taking care of business fairly quickly to take the momentum in to the second set where they were challenged but ultimately came away with the victory. Senior Chelsea Getz powered the offense once again with 12 kills and Dominque McPeek added 16 assists. Calvary was led by Mallory Noggle’s four kills and five aces on the night. The win moves Meridian to 4-3 on the year and they will return to action tomorrow night for their conference opener at Warrensburg-Latham.
