(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) — The curtain has come down on the 2016 Summer Olympics. The Closing Ceremony took place last night at Rio’s Maracana Stadium with a celebration of song and dance. It culminated more than two weeks of international competition between over 200 nations.

(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) — The U.S. men’s basketball team blew out Serbia 96-66 on the final day to win the gold medal. Kevin Durant scored 30 points as Team USA claimed its third straight Olympic gold. The U.S. women’s team topped Spain 101-72 to win its sixth straight gold medal on Saturday.

(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) — The U.S. blew away the field in the medal race in Rio. American athletes captured 121 medals in all, eclipsing their 2012 total from London of 103. Team USA snagged 46 gold, 37 silver and 38 bronze this time. China was second with 70 medals.

(Denver, CO) — Jason Hammel gave up a seven-spot in the first inning as the Cubs lost to the Rockies 11-4 at Coors Field. Nolan Arenado went 4-for-5 with a pair of three-run homers as Colorado took two-of-three. Hammel gave up 10 runs in all to fall to 13-and-6. Addison Russell homered twice for Chicago.

(Indianapolis, IN) — Quarterback Andrew Luck returned to action for Indianapolis but it wasn’t enough as the Ravens edged the Colts, 19-18, at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday in Week Two of the preseason. Luck was a perfect 8-for-8 on the day, throwing for 71 yards. Second-year wide receiver Phillip Dorsett led the team with 37 yards on three receptions. The Colts host the Eagles on Saturday night in Week Three of the preseason.
