(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) — The U.S. men’s basketball team is into the semifinals of the Olympic basketball tournament. Kevin Durant scored 27 points as Team USA trounced Argentina, 105-78. The Americans will square off with Spain in the semifinals tomorrow.
>>U.S. Sweeps Women’s 100m Hurdles
(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) — It’s a clean sweep for the United States in the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Brianna Rollins won gold. U.S. teammate Nia Ali nabbed silver, while fellow American Kristi Castlin claimed bronze. It’s the first time a single nation has won all three medals in the event.

(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) — The U.S. is closing in on 100 medals at the Summer Olympics. The Americans captured another nine medals yesterday, giving them 93 through 12 days of competition in Rio. Team USA also leads the way with 30 gold medals.

(Houston, TX) — Brandon Moss’ three-run homer in the seventh put the finishing touches on the Cardinals’ 8-2 win over the Astros to close out a two-game sweep at Minute Maid Park. Stephen Piscotty had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored, while Carlos Martinez picked up the victory. Martinez cruised through seven innings, striking out seven and holding Houston to one run on three hits.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs moved to a season-high 33 games over .500 with a 6-1 win against the Brewers at Wrigley Field. Chicago is 76-and-43 after taking the first three of the four-game set. Jorge Soler his a three-run shot, while Jon Lester improved to 13-and-4. The teams close out the four-game series with a day game today.

(Cleveland, OH) — The White Sox rallied for five runs in the top of the ninth to grab a 10-7 win over the Indians in the second of three at Progressive Field. Chicago took the lead on a grand slam by Adam Eaton off Cleveland closer Cody Allen. They’ve split the first two games of the set.

(Baltimore, MD) — The surging Red Sox ran their win streak to six games with an 8-1 rout of the Orioles. The game was called after six innings due to rain. Boston is a game ahead of Baltimore for the top AL Wild Card spot and a game behind Toronto for first place in the AL East.

Andrew Luck is expected to make an appearance after sitting out last week’s 19-18 win over the Bills. This is Luck’s first game action since a lacerated kidney ended his season on November 8th of last year.
