>>MLB All-Star Starters Announced


(New York, NY)  —  The Cubs and Red Sox will be well represented at next week’s All-Star Game.  Chicago has five starters and seven players overall on the National League team.  Boston boasts four starters and two pitchers on the American League squad.  The game is Tuesday in San Diego.


>>Reds Outslug Cubs At Wrigley


(Chicago, IL)  —  Zack Cozart and Jay Bruce each belted two-run homers to power the Reds to a 9-5 win over the Cubs.  John Lackey allowed six runs in six frames to fall to 7-and-5 with the loss.  Addison Russell slugged a pair of home runs and Javier Baez and Kris Bryant also went deep for Chicago in defeat.


>>Yankees Whip White Sox


(Chicago, IL)  —  The Yankees smacked 20 hits in a 9-0 rout of the White Sox.  Carlos Rodon allowed five earned runs and 12 hits in only five innings to fall to 2-and-7.  Chicago’s three-game winning streak came to an end with the loss.


>>Cards Fall To Pirates


(St. Louis, MO)  —  The Pirates scored five unanswered runs to grab a 5-2 win over the Cardinals in Busch Stadium.  Mike Leake took the loss getting charged with all the runs in six innings.  Leake is 5-and-7.  St. Louis has lost the first two of the four-game series.


>>Wade Seeking 50-Million-Dollar Deal


(Undated)  —  Free-agent star Dwyane Wade is apparently seeking a two-year deal worth around 50-million dollars.  ESPN reports the Heat have offered the 12-time All-Star 40-million over three years.  The Nuggets have reportedly offered Wade a two-year pact worth north of 50-million.


>>Serena, Venus Both Advance To Wimbledon Semifinals


(London, England)  —  American sisters Serena and Venus Williams are both in the Wimbledon semifinals.  Serena is just two wins away from her seventh Wimbledon title and 22nd major championship.  Venus is in the semis of a grand slam event for the first time since the 2010 U.S. Open.
