From the National Weather service in Lincoln, IL- Widespread rain will continue to spread north and east today as an upper-level disturbance interacts with a frontal boundary lifting slowly northward toward the area. The heaviest rainfall of 2 to 3 inches, with local 4 inch amounts, will be focused roughly along the I-70 corridor. Rainfall amounts will steadily decrease further north, with areas from Peoria and Bloomington northward picking up less than one inch. The rain will taper off and come to an end across much of central Illinois by Monday afternoon. A few showers may linger along and east of I-57 through Monday evening.
