>>Cards Hold Off Angels


(Anaheim, CA)  —  Matt Holliday hit two homers to lift the Cardinals past the Angels, 12-10, in Anaheim.  Holliday, Matt Carpenter and Matt Adams each drove in three runs.  Carpenter also had a dinger.  Adam Wainwright improved to 3-and-3 despite allowing six earned runs.  St. Louis swept the three-game series.


>>Cardinals At Dodgers Tonight


(Los Angeles, CA)  —  The Cardinals head over from Anaheim to Los Angeles tonight to begin a three-game series with the Dodgers.  Michael Wacha starts for St. Louis.  He’s 2-and-3 with a 3.12 ERA.  LA turns to Ross Stripling, who’s 0-and-2 with a 3.82 ERA.  First pitch is at 9:10 p.m.


>>Cubs Host Pirates


(Chicago, IL)  —  The Cubs open a three-game series against the Pirates this afternoon at Wrigley Field.  Chicago is 25-and-8, coming off losing two-of-three versus the Padres.  The Cubs swept the Pirates in a three-game set earlier this month.  Jason Hammel starts for Chicago opposite Pittsburgh’s Francisco Liriano.


>>White Sox At Yankees


(Bronx, NY)  —  The White Sox and Yankees begin a three-game series in the Bronx tonight.  Chicago dropped two-of-three to the Rangers to put them at 23-and-12.  Chris Sale, who is 7-and-0, takes the mound for the Sox.  New York counters with Luis Severino.


>>Western Conference Finals Set


(Oklahoma City, OK)  —  The Thunder are heading to the Western Conference Finals to battle the Warriors.  Oklahoma City took down the Spurs, 113-99, at home in Game Six to take the semifinal series 4-to-2.  Kevin Durant led the way with 37 points.  It’s the fourth time in six years the Thunder have reached this round in the NBA playoffs.


>>67 Win Spurs Head Home


(Oklahoma City, OK)  —  The season is over for the 67-win Spurs.  San Antonio had the second most wins in the NBA this season behind the 73-win Warriors.  The future of Spurs stars Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili is not yet known at this time.


>>Raptors Try To Close Out Heat


(Miami, FL)  —  The Raptors have the chance to reach the conference finals for the first time in franchise history tonight.  Toronto takes a 3-2 lead in its best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Heat into Game Six from Miami.  With a win the Raptors would move on to square off with the Cavaliers.


>>Sharks Pound Predators In Game Seven


(San Jose, CA)  —  The Sharks made easy work of the Predators in Game Seven pulling out a 5-0 win to close out their Western Conference semifinal series.  Martin Jones turned away 20 shots.  San Jose will face the Blues in the Western Conference Finals.  Game One is in St. Louis on Sunday.  The Eastern Conference Finals start tonight with the Penguins hosting the Lightning.


>>Pats’ Gronk On 17 Madden Cover


(Undated)  —  Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski looks to overcome the curse.  “Gronk” is on the cover of the video game “Madden NFL 17.”  Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Junior graced the cover last season.


>>NASCAR Heads To Dover


(Dover, DE)  —  NASCAR returns to Dover International Speedway on Sunday for the AAA 400 Drive For Autism.  Kevin Harvick sits atop the Sprint Cup leaderboard with 390 points.  Kyle Busch is four points back.  Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, and Kurt Busch round out the top five.  Joe Gibbs Racing has won six of the 11 races this season.
