>>Blues Rally Past Blackhawks For 2-1 Series Lead

 

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Blues have a 2-1 series lead on the Blackhawks in their first-round playoff series.  St. Louis scored twice in the third period to win 3-2 at Chicago in Game Three.  Jaden Schwartz’s power-play goal at 13:22 was the difference.  The Blackhawks host Game Four tomorrow night.

 

>>Rays Nip White Sox

 

(St. Petersburg, FL)  —  The White Sox suffered a 3-2 loss to the Rays in the rubber match of a three-game set at Tropicana Field.  Avisail Garcia knocked in a run and scored for Chicago.  Jose Quintana allowed two earned in six innings to fall to 1-and-1.

 

>>Cardinals Clip Reds To Take Rubber Match

 

(St. Louis, MO)  —  Eric Fryer doubled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the Cardinals beat the Reds 4-3 at Busch Stadium.  Matt Carpenter’s homer tied the game at three in the fifth inning as St. Louis took two-of-three.  Jedd Gyorko [[ JERK-oh ]] also homered for the Cardinals.

 

>>Cardinals Host Cubs Tonight

 

(St. Louis, MO)  —  The Cardinals and Cubs play their first series of the season starting tonight at Busch Stadium.  Mike Leake starts the opener of the three-game set for St. Louis, while Chicago counters with former Cardinal John Lackey.  The Cubs are 9-and-3, while the Cardinals are 7-and-5.

 

>>Cubs Shut Out By Rockies

 

(Chicago, IL)  —  Tyler Chatwood combined with two relievers on a three-hitter as the Rockies shut out the Cubs 2-0 at Wrigley Field.  Jon Lester struck out 10 while allowing just one run in seven-and-a-third innings, but took the tough-luck loss.  Nolan Arenado hit two solo homers for Colorado.

 

>>Cavs Outlast Pistons

 

(Cleveland, OH)  —  Kyrie Irving scored 31 points as the Cavaliers outlasted the Pistons, 106-101, in Game One of their East quarterfinal series.  Kevin Love had 28 points and 13 rebounds.  LeBron James added 22 points and 11 assists as Cleveland grabbed a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven set.

 

>>Warriors’ Curry Questionable Tonight

 

(Oakland, CA)  —  Warriors star Steph Curry is questionable for tonight’s Game Two against the Rockets.  Curry didn’t practice yesterday after suffering a right ankle injury in Saturday’s win.  Curry had 24 points in 20 minutes Saturday.

 

>>Isles Edge Panthers In OT

 

(Brooklyn, NY)  —  Thomas Hickey’s goal 12:31 into overtime gave the Islanders a 4-3 win over the Panthers in Game Three of their East quarterfinal series.  New York overcame 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to grab a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven set.

 

>>Carl Edwards Dominates At Bristol

 

(Bristol, TN)  —  Carl Edwards led over half of Sunday’s 500 laps as he won the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Edwards earned his first win of the year.  Dale Earnhardt Junior finished in second, Kurt Busch ended in third and rookie Chase Elliott finished in a career-best fourth place.

 

>>Grace Gets First PGA Win

 

(Hilton Head, SC)  —  Branden Grace fired a five-under 66 in the final round to win the RBC Heritage.  Grace finished at nine-under to capture his first career PGA wins.  Luke Donald and Russell Knox finished in a tie for second at seven-under.
