Peyton Manning is officially calling it a career. Manning will announce his retirement during a news conference today. The 39-year-old Manning helped lead the Broncos to a win over the Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in his final game.
The Lakers handed the Warriors their sixth loss of the year with a 112-95 victory in LA. The .727 difference in win percentage makes the game the biggest upset in NBA history. The 13-and-51 Lakers were an 18-point underdog to the 55-and-6 Warriors.

The Cubs suffered an 8-3 loss to the Diamondbacks in Cactus League play yesterday. Dexter Fowler homered, while Adam Warren allowed two runs in two innings in his Cub debut. The Cubs are in split-squad action today against the Royals and Rockies.
Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier hit back-to-back homers to power the White Sox to an 8-1 win over the Padres. Carlos Rodon tossed three scoreless innings. The Sox face the Angels today.
After parting ways with former head football coach Bill Cubit, the University of Illinois is bringing in a big name. Former Bears and Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith is expected to take over the Illinois football program, according to multiple sources. Smith was fired as Tampa Bay’s head coach in January after going 8-and-24 in two seasons. He coached Chicago from 2004-2012, leading them to Super Bowl 41 where they fell to the Colts.
A game-high 39 points from Malcolm Hill wasn’t enough as Illinois dropped an 86-79 double-overtime decision Sunday at Penn State. The Fighting Illini fell to 13-and-18. Illinois plays in the first round of the Big Ten tournament on Wednesday.
The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament opens on Wednesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Hoosiers hold the top seed and won’t play until Friday. Purdue is the fourth-seed and will also hit the court Friday. The ACC Tournament opens tomorrow in Washington, DC, but fourth-seeded Notre Dame is off until the quarterfinals on Thursday. The Big East Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. Fifth-seeded Butler faces Providence in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Northern Iowa and Florida Gulf Coast are going to the NCAA Tournament. UNI punched its ticket with a 56-54 win over Evansville in the MVC title game. Florida Gulf Coast earned an automatic bid with an 80-78 overtime victory over Stetson in the Atlantic Sun final.
Brad Keselowski made a late charge to win the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Keselowski passed Kyle Busch with five laps left en route to his second win in Vegas in three years. Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson, Busch and Austin Dillon rounded out the top-five.
Two of the bigger upsets in UFC history took place Saturday night in Las Vegas. Miesha Tate captured the women’s bantamweight title with a submission win over Holly Holm. Nate Diaz also stunned Conor McGregor with a second-round submission.
