The Warriors matched the record for the best start in NBA history with a 118-105 win over the Nuggets. The 15-and-0 Warriors tied the record held by the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the 1993-94 Rockets. Golden State can break the record with a win over the Lakers tomorrow night.
The Panthers improved to 10-and-0 with a 44-16 rout of Washington. Cam Newton threw touchdown passes to five different receivers, while the defense forced five turnovers in the one-sided affair. Carolina will put its unblemished mark on the line against the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day.
Justin Tucker’s 47-yard field goal as time expired gave the Ravens a 16-13 win over the Rams in Baltimore. Leading 13-3, St. Louis surrendered 13 fourth-quarter points and lost its third straight to fall to 4-and-6, including 1-and-4 on the road. The Rams play at Cincinnati this Sunday.
Adam Vinatieri kicked a 43-yard field goal with 52 seconds remaining to push the Colts past the Falcons 24-21 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Matt Hasselbeck threw for two touchdowns for the Colts and is 3-0 as a starter this season. Ahmad Bradshaw caught both touchdown passes and combined for 52 total yards. Indianapolis improved to 5-and-5 and kept pace for fist place in the AFC South.
The Broncos held on for a 17-15 win over the Bears at Soldier Field. Jeremy Langford ran in from two yards out in the final minute, but Chicago failed on the ensuing two-point conversion attempt. The Bears dropped to 4-and-6 with the loss. The Bears battle the rival Packers Thanksgiving night.
In other NFL action, Tony Romo returned and the Cowboys ended their seven-game losing streak with a 24-14 win over the Dolphins. The Packers took over first place in the NFC North with a 30-13 rout of the Vikings.
Kyle Busch is the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion. Busch captured his first series title by winning the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 30-year-old Busch missed the first 11 races of the year after breaking his right leg and foot in a wreck at Daytona.
The Dodgers have reportedly found their next skipper. The “Los Angeles Times” reports the Dodgers will name Dave Roberts their new manager today. The 43-year-old Roberts most recently served as the bench coach of the Padres.
Shannon Brook’s 75-yard touchdown run with 1:25 to play put the game away as Minnesota beat Illinois 32-23 Saturday in Minneapolis. Wes Lunt threw two TD passes for the Fighting Illini, who fell to 5-and-6. Illinois’ regular-season finale is this Saturday against Northwestern at Soldier Field.
Today, College Basketball action has Illinois clashing with Chicago State as part of the Emerald Coast Classic. Northwestern will face top-ranked North Carolina as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. DePaul will face Norfolk State in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.
