The Cubs are a victory away from their first NLCS appearance since 2003. The Cubs crushed a postseason record six home runs in their 8-6 win over the Cardinals at Wrigley Field. Jake Arrieta picked up the win despite giving up four runs in five-and-two-thirds innings.
The Mets only retaliated with their bats in Game Three of their NL Division Series with the Dodgers. New York set a postseason franchise record for runs in a 13-7 rout of Los Angeles at Citi Field. The Royals scored five times in the eighth inning to overcame a 6-2 deficit en route to a 9-6 win over the Astros in Game Four of their ALDS in Houston. USC is moving forward without head coach Steve Sarkisian. The school has fired Sarkisian five games into his second season with the Trojans.
