As heard on the Talk 101 FM, Millikin Football lost to North Central 49-21 at Frank Lindsay Field during Homecoming weekend. Nicco Stepina passed for 150 yards and a touchdown and led the Big Blue with 75 yards rushing.
Illinois beat Nebraska 14-13. Geronimo Allison scored on a 1 yard touchdown pass from Illini QB West Lunt with only 10 seconds remaining in the game. Lunt passed for 251 yards and two touchdowns to improve Illinois to 4-1 on the season.
The Chicago Cubs nipped the Milwaukee Brewers 1-0. Kyle Hendricks picked up the win for Chicago. Addison Russell singled in the lone run for the Cubs. The Cubbies still have a chance to host the Wild Card game to open the playoffs if Pittsburgh loses Sunday and the Cubs win. The Pirates lost to Cincinnati 3-1 Saturday.
The St. Louis Cardinals game with the Atlanta Braves was postponed by rain.

The Colts may be without star quarterback Andrew Luck on Sunday. ESPN reports Luck is “legitimately questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars due to a shoulder injury. Luck has never missed a game in his NFL career.
The Rams will try to even their record at 2-and-2 on Sunday when they play the first-place Cardinals in Arizona. The Rams fell to 1-and-2 with a 12-6 home loss to the Steelers last Sunday. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has not ruled out playing in Sunday’s game against the Raiders. Cutler missed last week’s loss to the Seahawks with a hamstring injury and has been limited in practice this week. Jimmy Clausen started in Cutler’s place last week.
